This manual is the Particle and Heavy Ion Transport code System (PHITS) 
user's guide. 
PHITS is a general-purpose Monte Carlo particle transport simulation 
code that is used in many studies in the fields of accelerator 
technology, radiotherapy, space radiation, etc. 
For details on the physical models and important functions implemented 
in PHITS, see :numref:`sec-references`.
This manual explains how to execute PHITS and which parameters should be 
used in the system. 

The contents of this manual correspond to the PHITS version number shown 
on the title page and are subject to change without notice. 
If you have any question or comment regarding this manual, 
please contact the PHITS office (phits-office@jaea.go.jp).
